how to actually win at life.

Hey team!

It’s currently a Sunday night as I’m typing this out in the comfort of my workspace.

About a few hours ago, we had our weekly Sunday IRL call with all the boys tuning in from different parts of the world.

Each call, we start things off with a question of the week and each of us answers the question while reflecting on our week.

Usually, I will come up with the question and pose it to the boys.

But this time, I let one of the guys come up with a powerful question to pose.

And the question asked was powerful indeed.

But was more powerful and what left more of an impression on me were our responses to it.

The guy who asked the question first spoke about his struggles with staying competitive and being hungry to win.

He followed up by asking us for advice or tips for someone to channel that competitive nature into any endeavor we wish to pursue.

He answered the question first by explaining that he would focus on the pain of losing and transmuting that into the hunger to win.

And as much as that can be an effective approach for professional athletes, it’s not a sustainable strategy for life.

The reason why that works so well for athletes is because they don’t compete in sports their whole lives.

But to me and you, we want to win this entire game of life from where we are now until it’s all said and done.

To do that, we need more effective methods to win in any realm of our lives while not placing so much importance on the pain of losing.

We have to work our asses off to get what we want while surrendering to the result.

So when it was my turn to answer his question, I explained that being present solves every problem.

Not only does it provide us with this sense of inner peace but more importantly, we’re not wasting energy by focusing on the result.

Why bother to focus on the result?

It’s not in our control anyways.

Sure, it’s important to have a sense of clarity and goals in your mind to strive for.

But that should be a prerequisite to achieving any level of success.

By focusing on what’s in front of you, not only do you get more sh*t done but you allow yourself to have a sense of equanimity.

Because that’s something I’ve been struggling with.

We all have difficult situations in life but how many of us wait for the storm to pass instead of learning how to dance in the rain?

How many of us will remain calm and composed when sh*t hits the fan.

How many of us will resort back to subconscious programming when the script doesn’t go as planned in our heads?

The reality is that none of us are perfect.

But can you utilize the past, present, and future properly?

Can you learn from your mistakes without spending too much time there?

Can you live presently and enjoy the 14 to 18 hours you’re awake?

And can you get clear on what you want while focusing on the very action to get you there?

Because 99% of people cannot and will never be able to do any of those three things.

Let alone, doing them simultaneously.

Even the top-level entrepreneurs struggle with this.

But hey, sometimes there is a season for less balance.

Sometimes you have to direct all your focus to a particular thing and change your current lens.

Which is why it all comes down to awareness.

As long as you’re aware, your inner wisdom will guide you wherever your heart and spirit wish to go.

So this is just a reminder to stay true to yourself.

It’s a new month coming up.

Summer is right around the corner, weather’s getting nice out.

How are you going to spend your days?

Maybe you spend more time outdoors and less time on your computer.

Even if that means you get a little bit less work done.

When you get to play this game of entrepreneurship, you get to play the rules.

You decide how you want to live each day.

Remember that.

Anyways, speaking of the topic of entrepreneurship.

If you’re an entrepreneur, I have something special for you.

I’ve been wanting to host a networking event for other non-IRL entrepreneurs.

It’s called “Networking Unplugged”

An event open to the public where entrepreneurs can connect to like-minded guys and form some solid bonds.

And I’m so pumped to have this event come to fruition.

It’s a free virtual event that the IRL community and I will be hosting.

It’s next Monday, May 6th from 4 to 5 pm EST.

There are only 60 spots available though.

So if you want a spot, I’d recommend registering down here ASAP!!

And with that, I’ll leave you off with one final quote to set the tone for this upcoming week :)

“The secret to success is retaining your child-like qualities”

Much luv,
