How I combat being overwhelmed

and how you should too ..

Hey!

The first week of August is in the books just like that.

I feel like it’s a very overwhelming season for many people out there, especially entrepreneurs.

I just wrapped up the IRL weekly call in which I generally pose a question each week.

This week, I asked the guys what they do to combat overwhelmedness, aside from the common answers of journaling and hitting the gym.

I asked that question because this week has been all over the place for me.

Not in terms of what I’m physically doing but more so mentally.

Being so future-oriented, I find myself focusing too much on things I want to get done.

So much so, that I get caught up in this cycle of information overload.

The guys on the call shared their thoughts and a lot of them have also felt the impact of the busy season on their mental state.

Some ideas shared were to go on a walk, a drive, or even as simple as sparking up a conversation with someone.

Having a third-person point of view can sometimes be the key difference maker.

Perspective is everything and oftentimes, we get too caught up in our own.

We often believe we have the answers to questions we haven't yet fully clarified.

We become answer seekers before question seekers.

Self-improvement tells us that all the answers lie within our routines and habits.

“Journal and the ideas will come to you”.

But that’s not always the case.

Sometimes you have to try something out of the ordinary.

Talk to somebody you rarely speak to.

Take a step outside your comfort zone to meet a new version of you.

Self-improvement is an endless game and it is a part of our life mission.

The work we put in each day should not be classified as work.

Because countless people around the world would kill to even have the choice to wake up and do what you’re doing.

Zoom out your lens and make a conscious effort to see things from different perspectives.

Whether it’s the perspective of your parents, friends, or a stranger you’re yet to meet.

Slow down so you have enough time to check your blind spots.

Wish you a week filled with clarity, introspection, and progress toward your dreams.

Much luv,

Jared
