Quite the full circle week

Week in my life 09/18 - 09/24

Hey, hope you’re doing well.

I hope this past week wasn’t just any other week for you. Not another week out of the 52 in the year. I hope it really stood out for you because it did for me.

No, not because I was productive, efficient, focused etc.

But because I was really able to see how far I’ve come and how much progress I’ve made.

This past weekend, I visited the University I dropped out of.

Where it allll started.

Everything’s changed

While I was there visiting, I just couldn’t help but have this feeling inside me.

This feeling like I don’t belong there anymore.

Almost like a “what am I doing here” kind of feeling.

But I think it was extremely beneficial for me to be there.

It was a very introspective experience to see how far I’ve really come.

It’s one thing to look back on pictures and videos.

But it’s another thing to be there in person and almost re-live what life was like a year ago.

I hate to say it but a year ago, I really was an NPC

Visiting my old apartment room

I even went back to visit my old apartment room where it all started.

Where I literally recorded a video of myself saying bye to the place, knowing I was going to be dropping out.

I recorded that video before I told a single person that I was dropping out.

I did it so I could really hold myself accountable to the point that I would’ve made a fool of myself had I not drop out.

Me with my former roommates in my apartment room

In that apartment room, that’s where the journey began with picking up a notebook and pen, and began journaling to myself.

I used to sneak out of that place to hop on phone calls with a few like-minded guys I met on Discord (who are now in IRL).

I really couldn’t help but reminisce on those days when it was literally day 0.

I’ll be posting a YouTube video on my entire experience there sometime within the week so stay tuned for that.

The IRL Podcast

I have also officially started The IRL Podcast.

I can’t wait to get this going and I’m so thrilled to have filmed the first episode with a member of IRL.

His name is Josh Schultz who happens to live an hour away from me, goes to the same school I went to AND is the same age as me.

Crazy right??

Josh & I mid-conversation, filming Epsiode #1 of The IRL podcast

Just shows the power of technology and the ability to leverage the internet to find and connect with other people near you IRL.

That podcast will also be out shortly on YouTube and Spotify so lots of content to look forward to :)

See ya next week :)

On a personal note, I’ll be doing a 24-hour dopamine detox (no screens/electronics) beginning tonight.

Will definitely update you guys on how that goes.

Take care guys and hope you guys have a solid start to your week.

Cheers,

Jared
