Why you have to start CREATING
Hey! I hope you’ve all had a fantastic week.
It’s been really nice to enjoy these summer days, I must say.
Personally, I’ve been really enjoying my morning routine as of late.
Soaking up the sun, grounding my feet in grass, reading my book, and transitioning into some nice focused work.
I always try my best to remain as present as possible, especially in the A.M.
I think it’s ultra important that no matter what season you’re in, you’re always able to detach yourself from work and be where your feet are.
The act of being present will always be a constant battle as we often get so wrapped up in our minds.
There’s a good saying from Kung Fu Panda:
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift, that is why it is called the present”
It’s so true though! The gift truly is the present moment.
Memories are nice and all but life is not meant to be constantly reflecting on things and reminiscing.
Too many people are constantly stuck in the past.
I call them the “remember when friends”.
They are friends that are always recalling things from the past.
“Remember when we did this”
“Remember those times”
It’s pivotal that you don’t get caught up in the notion that “we’re getting older”.
Or, “life isn’t what it used to be”.
It’s a sad paradigm of reality in which many people get caught up in.
You have to learn to not only be present but embrace the future.
Embrace the uncertainty and the lack of direction.
At the end of the day, everyone is still “figuring things out”.
Nobody truly has it all figured out.
And if you think they have it all figured out, they're just good actors.
We’re all actors at the end of the day in this massive play, called “life”.
So embrace the ups and downs because you made a choice to live a roller coaster life.
You chose to get on the ride of life, rather than living a “merry-go-round life”.
A very predictable life, filled with mundane activities to fill your time.
I don’t want to speak for all of you though as I feel like some may be in a position they don’t want to be in.
And in that case, contrary to what most people say, my best piece of advice is to simply start creating.
I’m sure you haven’t heard that advice too often.
But to start creating is something so simple yet so powerful.
Because my life changed ever since I started creating.
So many people are caught up in the Gen-Z mentality of life.
To drop out of school and start an e-commerce store.
To burn the bridges and go all in on SAAS.
But the missing piece in your life truly starts with creating something.
Building something from nothing and manifesting it into the world.
Stop getting caught up with the numbers and the noise from the world.
Fall in love with your craft and the rest will all fall into place.
I’ve only started creating quite recently in my life and the creative process has never been more fulfilling.
It fills my cup and it allows me to derive purpose out of life.
As much as I am focused on goals such as achieving financial freedom for myself, the real reason I do what I do is for how it makes me feel.
Because at the end of the day, we don’t want money.
We want what money gives us.
Which are emotions, fulfillment, joy, etc.
The feeling of making a lasting impact on people’s lives while making money has to be one of the greatest feelings.
The way my art has allowed me to feel is indescribable.
By art, I’m referring to my business.
Every business is some form of art that tells a story.
And the story I’m telling right now is through the vlogs I’ve been posting on Youtube from the road trip.
With each video, I’ve been able to curate it and plan it out according to my vision and creative ideas.
There is an extremely good book called “Steal Like An Artist”.
I’ve been binge-reading that book this week and I’ve never read any book like it before.
I’m not even finished it yet but it’s easily become one of my favorite reads.
It talks a lot about creativity, and embracing your artistic abilities, with an overarching theme that no idea is original.
I’d go in-depth explaining it but I don’t want this newsletter to be 10 minutes long.
Down below is the PDF of the book to check out as I would strongly recommend you do so.
Anyways, I’m gonna stop yapping now.
If you’re reading this, I appreciate your time and I hope you caught a little bit of inspiration or spark out of my writing.
If you did, then it’s mission accomplished for me.
Now go to bed soon (or have a good day?).
Lol, but for real, see you next week 😆
PS: If you end up giving it a read, message me with your thoughts and we can talk about it ;)
Much luv,
Jared
