- you're ONE ___ away
you're ONE ___ away
You’re one ___ way.
You’re one decision away from an amazing opportunity.
You’re one connection away from an elite network.
You’re one trip away from a whole new perspective of the world.
Change can happen in an instant.
Oftentimes, you make one chess move and things seem to work in your favor.
You decide to go all in on one thing and the rest seems to fall into place.
This mindset shift is oftentimes the difference between winners and losers in life.
The winners may not work harder.
They may not be smarter.
And chances are, they possess nothing inherently better than you.
But they have a few missing ingredients that many lack.
It’s perseverance.
It’s grit.
And it’s the attitude and belief in themselves that they are always one action away from getting to where they want to go.
On today’s catch-up call with the IRL boys, we were all sharing our weekly recap along with a life update.
I shared a little life update on my end, explaining how my week was and what I’m looking forward to.
And I explained to the guys how every day back home here has been flying by.
I’ve stuck to my routine and done what has to be done, yet I feel like I’m in a loop.
Wake up, morning routine, deep work, lunch, deep work x2, gym, dinner, sleep, repeat.
More or less, that’s been most days for me these last few months.
Is it productive? Yes.
Am I getting results? Yes.
Is it enjoyable? For the most part, yes.
But I keep asking myself the same question.
“Could life be better than this?”
And the answer is, certainly yes.
I’ve realized that the only way to make life better is to seek more discomfort.
Because that is ultimately the best way to grow as a human being.
To explore, put yourself in uncomfortable situations, and unlock a new version of yourself.
A new version of you that you never knew existed.
You’re probably wondering where I’m getting at with this.
Well, as I mentioned in my newsletter, I’m going to Rome next week.
The first leg of a big travel chapter for me.
And this new chapter will be the epitome of discomfort.
New places, new cultures, new people, and a new me.
And I couldn’t be more nervous, excited, and anxious, all at once.
The best combination of emotions to lean into and embrace.
And as this is the start of my new chapter of discomfort, I challenge you to flip the page and begin yours as well.
Whether that means departing your hometown and traveling or perhaps joining a community in your city.
There are many ways to try new things and learn more about yourself.
For me, traveling is the medium and conduit for change.
It’s what I live for and shapes me into who I am today.
And I couldn’t be more excited to embark on this journey and share it with you guys.
If you’ve gotten this far, as you can tell, this newsletter has more been a life update packed with some nuggets of value to hopefully be inspired by.
I hope you enjoyed today’s short read to end off your night/ start off your day, depending on where you’re tuning in from.
Stay tuned for next journal out of Rome, I have a feeling it’ll be pretty damn good.
Much luv,
Jared
